The SCAF went to Tau Volantis to find the Marker Signal’s source. I just don't understand how they let themselves fall so flat. I know how amazing limitless power sounds to the people of the time, but every group that wanted to use the markers definitely could have prepared better. They may be 200 years old but they were still aware of the black marker. The Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces is a literal Military force. In surprises me how a trained security force, and people well of aware of the potential the marker have, that they didn't prepare more. They, know it causes dementia and literally turns the dead By the second game. Hell everyone is so aware of the black marker that was on earth. You'd think the most valuable research on the markers would have come from the Medical deck on the ishimura in the first game and then relayed across the star system. These are trained personnel, on massive ships. All of titan station was destroyed, all of Aegis 7 killed, all the ishimura and Valor dead.
In all honesty, the necromorph outbreaks shouldn't have been as deadly as they were.
